Multi column layout for reddit redesign
< Commentaires sur Reddit Multi Column
v0.1.15 works on new.reddit.com for me
V0.2.0 works on both www and new.reddit.com for me. Could you share problematic URLs and a screenshot?
Thanks for the reply. I reinstalled it to try, and it works (had to add the @match new.reddit.com/* manually)
But... the panel on the left still appears. I even tried combining with other scripts to make that area on the left togglable. I tried it alone too. No luck.
Is there a way to make it like in your example screenshot, where the columns take all the screen real-estate from the very left edge of the window to the very right edge? (or even further right than your screenshot)
I wish those panels on the left & right were togglable.
In addition, once I scroll low enough for that panel to no longer be on the screen, the multi-column starts glitching out and jumping around. How can I avoid that jumpy glitch?
A gif of the glitch can be found here: https://jmp.sh/s/qm1GmG9dKvMBvAGYIRXw (I apologize for the grainy quality).
See those choppy jumps? that's the glitch.
I'm also attaching a screenshot here, to show it is new.reddit
I see now. I hid the right panel on v0.2.0, but will make it togglable in the next version. Maybe both in the future.
For the left panel, yes it is a bug, it should not scroll. I have to fix it.
About jumpy bahviour, as the images load, height of the posts changes, so it recalculates. Though impossible to remove completely. To reduce the jumpiness, I'll pin posts to columns.
All noted. Thanks for the screencast.
wow that quick thinking is impressive dev work, I gotta say 👍👍
"I'll pin posts to columns" << I'm curious if you can explain what this means like I'm 5 years old ^_^
Does it mean that the posts will adjust only if the width adjusts and not if the height changes?
In any case thank you!
By pinning, I meant fixing articles to respective columns, even when a recalculate resulted in a different one.
v0.2.1 released, hopefully resolving the issues.
Cheers
Already it is so much more enjoyable that I got stuck in a reddit hole before suddenly remembering I was just testing the update and planned to come back here and post this reply.
Still planning on adding those toggles to the left & right panels?
P.S.
I was also going to ask if you happen to know how to fix new.reddit to show the nicer UI again (despite knowing 100% that this has not been done by your script, but you seem knowledgeable so I figured I would ask)... However, I then found out they discontinued it. did you know? what a bummer:

You did it! the left panel is togglable! Well done!! ^_^
Is the right panel also togglable somehow? Can I choose to turn it back on?
This is awesome 👏👏
This doesn't seem to work for me on new.reddit.com, even after adding the line
// @match https://new.reddit.com/*
Is it possible to make this work there? If so, how please?
