First idea is actually a defect and has been fixed in v1.0.2. I will implement the second idea.

Have noticed something a bit unusual: there's apparently a trick to upload PNG's onto twitter, and the way the script is written right now, pressing the button on a tweet with a PNG image only opens a blank white tab with no picture.

I'm sorry I'm so busy for a long time so that I just found your report today.
In v1.0.6, I've fixed the problem that the image may not be shown normally if the image format is PNG. And I also replaced the button with an icon. The only problem is I cannot figure out how to make the effect likes other buttons when "mouseover". I'll do it if I know how to do.

It's partially fixed.

The problem is occurred when the background color is set to "Default" or "Lights out"
I have fixed it in v.1.0.9 and the button should show up in any background color.

Glad to see a replacement for the old "add button to extract :orig pictures" script that's now basically dead since Twitter's disabled all legacy extensions for their UI.
Submitting improvement ideas:
1.
When a tweet w/ images is first in a timeline (i.e. when it's opened up as it's own tab, the button doesn't appear with the others (reply, retweet, fav, etc). Only when it's not a primary tweet (like selecting a reply below it) will the button appear. Was hoping for the extract button to show up on every tweet if possible.Bug fixed! Now it shows up regularly! Thank you!
2. Was also hoping for an icon for the extract button. As is, it's just a dark square, and was hoping for a more unique identifier.
